In my second entry i will show you a job that I did some time ago....The setting is in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province in China. Sichuan has many specialities but the most known is their spicy cuisine, and when I say spicy I mean spicy that makes you cry and not stop coughing (and of course this occurred to me during an important dinner with people of high class) By being a foreigner and coming from a country like Spain, I am not used to this type of cuisine. They would change my plates and excuse themselves for offering me such spicy food (although they could not really understand how I didn't like it). So…now u can't say that they are not kind and welcoming people!!!
Anyways let's move on to the details and show all of you bits and pieces of the session. This particular job was for a creation of a TV commercial to inform people where they could buy tickets to attend the beauty pageant of Miss International.
At 5:00am I was picked up from the hotel where I was staying at to go to the make-up studio, I came out from there like a little princess.
As u can see from the picture the studio was situated in a tall building (in China, due to it's dense population, most of the buildings are tall so to go to the 30th floor was something normal but for me this was still something I had to get used to) I would also like to direct your attention to the piece of antique furniture that had just been renovated.
Aquí el resultado final ;)
Here is the final result
As you can see there were a couple of cameras present at the scene because they were also doing the "making-of" the session, including an interview.
What I had to do was to enter in a shop full of objects representing the Panda bear (my favorite animal, since I have been working in China I have had the opportunity to touch one and have it by my side. Chengdu is famous for it's Panda Base, a natural habitat where you can only find Pandas, I will do an entry on this!!!). This girl left her mother's hand and ran towards me and then stood beside me, looking at me in amazement. The mother felt bit embarrassed but for me and the crew it was fun.
In the shop with the Panda objects, look at my Panda ears!!! So cute!!! At the entrance of an ancient teahouse. I did not comment about this before but this
part of Chengdu is called Jin Li, the feeling is like if you have been transported back
in time, a place with local gastronomy, theaters, teahouses, and restaurants…I love
getting lost in these little alleys, drinking a cup of tea while listening to music
performed by a pai-hsiao (排箫-a form of pan pipe instrument). Hasta el Starbucks esta a la época! Even Starbucks was antique!
This was the last shot that we took…I will leave you to the video, so you can all see the final result.
¡Qué lo disfrutéis!
